.:Appearance and Clothing/Armor:.

In everything Mitsuhide appears the refined Japanese gentlemen samurai. He has long black hair tied at the back in a ponytail and dark eyes with a pale complexion. He is about average height at 5'9 and weights in at 130 lbs. He prefers to wear clothes in the colors of white, black and purple that give him a dark or 'lone wolf' sort of look. He is quite good looking.

Mitsuhide armor is highly ornate in and of Japanese style compared to Nobunage's more western style, the plate armor is purple while the cloth is dyed in black and white. He carries the Akechi clan's bell flower crest on his armor.

.:Personality:.

Calm and witty Mitsuhide comes across as being a modest and humble man but this is little more than a pretense that hides his deep well of self superiority. He is extremely clever and given to planning out his actions well in advance before taking action, while he has trouble trusting others and is by nature suspicious. He has few real friends but cares deeply about those who are close to him as a result.

A very ambitious man, Mitsuhide believes in trying to create the perfect world using force of arms. While he would happily serve another if they were worthy, his ambition could easily lead him to rebel and try to create his perfect world with his own hands. However he hides his intentions very well behind the screen of being the perfect gentleman. This combined with his cautious nature makes him a very hard man to read. While he would prefer not to have to hurt people if possible, he is also not as altruistic in his motives and methods as he would protest that he is. He is a man with both light and dark inside of him, it remains to be seen which is stronger.

One of his defining traits is his romantic side which is directed toward his childhood friend Kicho also known as Lady No, whom he meet when he served under her father Dosan Saito. He fell in love with her then and has continued to harbor feelings for her since. He is inclined toward making romantic gestures toward her in private. This attraction to his lords wife would become one of the spark's that would later lead him to rebel against Nobunage at Honnoji.

.:History:.

A distant decedent of the Minamoto clan, Mitsuhide was born into the Toki-Akechi clan and from a young age served as a general under the ruler of Mino Dosan Saito, obtaining the rank of one of his famous 10 commanders despite his youth. It was during this time he served as a bodyguard to his lords daughter lady Kicho, eventually he would fall in love with her. After he protested her marriage to lord Nobunage he was thrown out of Mino for his impudence. Not being their to protect Dosan when he was assassinated by his son Saitō Tatsuoki.

After that Mitsuhide went to serve with the "wandering shogun" Ashikaga Yoshiaki as one of his guardians, after the shogun was forced to flee the capital by the powerful Miyoshi clan. It was Mitsuhide who made the suggestion they take shelter with Nobunage Oda who Akechi knew to be an ambitious warlord. As soon as they entered Owari Mitsuhide transferred his allegiance to Nobunage Oda knowing he would achieved much greater power under the warlord than a fool like Yoshiaki. Although he kept up ties with the shogun just in case he could use him to his political advantage later on.

During Nobunage's conquest of the kinki region, Mitsuhide proved his expertise winning battle after battle until he earned promotion eventually becoming one of the Oda's three great generals alongside Shibata Katsuie and Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
