What a predicament.

Why was she here? It was not on her agenda. Her original plan involved the central plains and Dong Zhuo's eventual destruction of the Han. Why in heavens name was she in this forsaken wilderness of Yi? The Oracle was properly protected with a hood and a custom vested robe to keep out the bugs. Her frail body disliked this sort of traveling however, and she had to bring along her special herbal concoction to keep herself energized. Still, it was unlike her to stop in the middle of a well thought out plan and do something so spontaneous.

It was a strange felling. A sensation that dragged her this direction. She wasn't sure if it was her usual foresight. It was different
this time. It was as if all the things she was preparing for was not enough. As if she needed to reconsider the very foundation of her plans. Wei Xing felt almost sick from the feeling. Something of great magnitude was off and she would possibly find a answer here.

Riding her horse out of the wooded area she was just in. She saw a river ahead. She dismounted and tied her steed to a tree. Then placed a rug with the symbol of yin and yang onto the grass by the quiet stream. She sat on the rug with folded legs and pulled a small gem out of her robe. It shined with a cold hue even in the more humid Yi region. She closed her eyes and meditated with the gem tightly held in her hands. 

Sometimes Wei Xing struggled between appearing logical and yet illogical to others. She was one who hated idiots and people who rambled on about things they knew nothing about. False leaders, false scholars, false healers... it went on and on. Yet she was capable of things that any logical person would end up accusing her of the same idiocy. Sigh... having such potential was a chore at times. 

Wei Xing would not let anything in this world get ahead or surprise her. She was the Oracle. The be all, end all, of geniuses and sorcerers! She was to be the one who would control the fate of the land as she chooses. She would figure out what was causing this disturbance in her foresight and planning. At all costs..

[Jia Lin]

     The sound of singing echoed through the trees in Yi as Jia Lin rode slowly through a large forest on her way to Chengdu. This was her first time travelling since the Luoyang incident and the first time for years that Bei was not by her side. It took almost a full day of convincing him to stay in bed while she went on a job. He still needed a lot more time to recover, and she couldn't with clear conscience let him come in such a state. She was not even worried about being attacked, like others probably would after almost being assassinated. Jia Lin could not let her enemies deter her from her work. She needed to stay strong and to keep fighting the good fight no matter the cost. Lin was called by some old friends in Chengdu to catch back up and for some important business. She knew these men for a long time and they always confided with each other their problems and they always gave each other their opinions and their advice that could help them in any way. With the Yellow Turban Rebellion throwing the country even further into chaos, politicians needed to be more careful than ever so as to not further ignite the flames of rebellion in the people. Knowing that her old friends could use her help she quickly made her way over to Yi. Problem was, she had not been over here for a long time.

     While she generally knew how to get around, she mostly counted on Bei and her carriage drivers to get her to where she needed to go. As she was alone on her horse, she only had herself to rely on so she picked a way and stuck with it. She was certain that she was going the right way, but that stump looked really familiar. In fact she had passed that same stump three times now. Her singing stopped for a second, letting out a soft sigh, deciding to take a rest. She tied her horse up and began to walk around. She pulled out a dagger and left marks on trees so she could find her way back. She continued her song as she walked, her singing, which was quite good, floated around the trees. Jia Lin looked for any landmark that could help her figure out where she was. She remembered a river being somewhere around here, if she could find it then she would be able to get back on the right path. Her singing turned to humming as she went and got the horse, leading it behind her as she walked through the dense trees. Listening for any sound, she finally heard the sound of running water and made her towards it.

     Jia Lin wiped the sweat from her brow as she made her way closer to the river, she was not used to such temperatures and it was starting to get to her. Her silent humming stopped when she noticed a person up ahead, next to the river. Jia Lin quickly tied her horse up and looked out to the person. She seemed a bit overdressed for the weather, though Jia Lin couldn't say much since she was in a bright red hanfu with a flowery design. It seemed as if the woman was meditating, something Jia Lin tried once but was too impatient with it and never tried it again. So Lin waited a bit before reaching up and shaking a branch as a way to alert the person to her presence without having to yell to her. Perhaps she was lost as well,  or maybe she could help give Jia Lin directions.

This was not possible... what Xing felt. It was not something she was prepared for. Not in her wildest dreams was this possible. Zuo Ci... was that finicky old man responsible? Was this pre planned? The book she had that was forever sealed. Perhaps she should return to her study and investigate it further. The Oracle was never surprised by anything....
and this was unacceptable. Wei Xing would have to quickly find a way to gain control of this situation or she could lose access to her destiny forever. It would not happen!

'rustle' 'rustle'

"No! Urgh.... What?!"

A annoying rustle brought Xing back to reality. What? Out here? Why is someone here and interrupting her at this important moment? Unbelievable... Wei Xing looked back slightly to see some idiot standing by the trees. The fate of the Oracles future was at stake and this fool completely undid Xing's progress. Sigh... back to the drawing board. She gave a glare of great disdain to the interloper before looking away again.

"I can only assume you wanted my attention with that annoying rustling. I suppose even without my full wardrobe I attract lost sheep to my aura. Sigh... this is not the time..."

She closed her eyes attempting to continue as she was, but quickly halted. Xing doubted this woman would understand and just leave quickly. People were idiots like that. Wei Xing stood and looked at her with a cold stare.

"What do you want? I was in the middle of something more important than your life... This will hopefully be worth the interruption."

Wei Xing was more than just a little bothered than usual by recent events. This was a serious matter for even her level of being. There was no time for idiots right now.

[Jia Lin]

     It seemed the branch pulling was enough to get her attention, though she seemed disheveled. The woman must have been really deep into her meditation, and it was clear she was annoyed. Jia Lin quickly bowed low, "My apologies, I should have waited longer." She looked upon the woman before speaking again. She seemed really out of place, especially around here. Though it was clear from her outfit alone that she was very important. Or at least she believed herself to be important. She hoped that she had not offended a high ranking official or something, though Lin did not recognize her or that outfit. Jia Lin was taken aback when she was told what the woman was doing was more important than her life itself While she was being spoken down to, Jia Lin did not get upset at all. Lin knew she interrupted her, so she had every right to be annoyed at her.

     Yet what the woman said intrigued Jia Lin. She did not know what meditation could really do, and she wondered what the stranger could have possibly seen that could be this important. She was pushing her luck, but Jia Lin wanted to make up for her rudeness before. "I am sorry for interrupting you, I was going to ask you for directions, but if it is something this important, maybe I can help somehow. If it is more important than my own life, then I should be willing to help you figure it out or whatever. Especially after messing you up before, please allow me to aid you." Jia Lin bowed low, she knew she had no idea what was going on and had no idea on how she could help yet she still meant it 100% that she wanted to help make up for her mistake. That was very clear on her face while she waited a response, probably an unfavorable one at that.

Oh heavens no. This woman was not just a idiot but one of those 'perfect lady' types as well. Xing despised these kinds girls. They were so naive and pampered. Not in a good way either, you could not find good uses for them at anything. Lacking any ambition, only seeing the good in obvious evil, and never willing to do the truly right options when they present themselves. They usually spoke of peaceful solutions and only sit around at tea parties all day thinking everyone else were barbarians. Ha! They were right on one count. Everyone but the Oracle was a simple barbarian, or at least should be. They could not comprehend her greatness. Why were all other women Wei Xing encountered so flawed? Xing would be sure to give proper education to this disappointing sex when the time comes... Although now that time has a serious obstacle.

'Lost? Sigh... Cheng Du is close. The road is somewhat curvy so I suppose it... confused you."

The Oracle placed a small pale hand to her face in disgust. How in the world did she leave the road? This was not someone who was alone often was she? Being alone had it's benefits too. Increased competence for one. She had half a mind to just lie to her to show her how foolish she was to trust a stranger in the woods. Unfortunately that would just possibly cause her to return and keep being a pest.

"This stream leads to the road. You will see a small wooden bridge as you head west along the river... that's downstream. Across the bridge you will reach Cheng Du and stop being so lost.'

The woman also asked if she could help? Help? Seriously? The thought actually caused Xing to smirk at the possible silliness of it. This woman would be scared to death if she knew what Xing was learning about... Hmmm...

You could not nor would want to know what I was doing. I recommend that you run along... as you will be running far more often very soon. People like you... who only see things in your flowery foolishness. Will have no place in the future that is forming. Only those worthy will have hope to change the future..."

This moron probably would not even understand her words. It was fine though, she would either be afraid and run, or be clueless and ignore the warning. Regardless Xing just hoped she would leave so the Oracle could continue undisturbed.

[Jia Lin]

     Jia Lin smiled a bit and laughed a hearty laugh. Jia Lin may have lost track of the path while her mind was on other things. Other things mostly being Bei and his condition, something that worried her a lot. He should make a full recovery if he stayed still and laid in bed, but she knew that was very difficult for someone like him. Even if guards watched his door 24/7, he would find a way to get out, digging out of the room if he had to. Though, she couldn't tell this random stranger that so she stretched the truth a bit, excluding the main reason for her being lost. "Well, I was singing a song and I may have lost track of where I was, being caught in the moment and all." Jia chuckled slightly, putting her hand behind her head and neck, scratching slightly. Jia Lin nodded as she was given directions, even looking in the direction that she needed to go. Barely in vision, far away in the distance she thought she saw a brown speck which was probably the bridge. She was about to bow when the stranger kept speaking.

     Jia Lin was a forgiving person, and she tended to stay calm, and look for the good in people. Even in the face of adversary, and in the gaping maw that was the Han Dynasty, she stood strong believing that she could help save it. She devoted her life to bringing peace to this land, getting rid of the corruption that was slowly destroying China. Hell, it wasn't slow anymore, it brought about this Yellow Turban Rebellion that was engulfing China in the Flames of Rebellion. She was not a fighter, she could not cut down the corruption with a sword. Though she could fight against it with thought, reason, and words. She could sway politicians and ministers, men and women of power and high position to her side. So they could see just what was happening to the country they loved with all their hearts, and if they did nothing there would be nothing left to love. Or for those with power, nothing left for them to govern. What she could not fight with the sword, she would fight with her mind and her heart to do whatever it took to save China, be it the Han Dynasty or not.

     Just recently, she had made such a stir that the head Eunuch himself called for her death. She was far from seeing everything as flowery...if she had then she would have no reason to be fighting as hard as she has been for the past few years. Even with her constant insults though, Jia Lin took no offense, and smiled brightly. "I do not believe politics, back stabbing, and almost being killed by assassins to be something that could be seen as flowery. There is nothing flowery about this country, if there was then I wouldn't be here talking to you." Jia Lin continued to smile, tilting her head sideways. If this woman was trying to insult her or make Lin feel bad, it would take much more than that to get a reaction out of her. "I don't plan on running anyways, that isn't in my nature, no matter how foolish that might be. Cowards have no chance to change the world, fools at least get a chance."
