Essential Information

Appearance: 5'6 with pale almost deathly skin tone and a look of near constant displeasure. Raven black hair with messy bangs partially cover dark, soulless eyes. Her body while youthful, is extremely toned and like one who has lived a life of chaos. Jia Nushen is always in black leather, from head to toe. A flexible light armor covers her upper chest and arms, then flows down her back to near the ankle, looking much like a jacket of black steel. Long black boots with plating up to her thighs end in the slightest  of heels. When wandering in a populated area. She will often wear various cloaks that bears no emblems over her body and keeps her mostly anonymous to common folk. 

Personality: Nushen is fairly unstable and extremely toxic to be around. Mostly she keeps to herself in public. Not speaking much, if at all, and ignoring others that approach. When she does find herself speaking, it is in only the most antagonistic of ways. Distrusting, ruthless, surprisingly intelligent and even preachy to a degree. The Black Death is a demon born of the times. 

For the most part, she is a psychotic murderer with a messiah complex. She lives to go on large village wide massacres. She believes that through death, all will escape the chaos. Hence her often killing those she pities or even dare say it... befriends, much sooner than later. When chaos comes to Nushen (or she brings chaos), she usually begins calm. Killing everything without remorse and bringing peace to all. However, as body counts rise, so does her sanity drop. It doesn't take too long before she becomes a laughing maniac for hours.

It is Jia Nushen's dream to bring peace to the world through death. While technically insane and/or disturbed, she is willing and capable of bringing this peace through more than just rampaging...

Family: Jia Nushen had several families. The first was a couple that died of plague. The second was a mercenary group slain in battle by soldiers of the Han. Her last notable family was a group of assassins. They died at her hands.

History:  Jia Nushen  has a muddled mess of a past. Starting from shortly after birth. Her family sold her to a merchent to save her from a spreading plague slowly taking the villagers lives. The merchant was a bit of a eccentric sort. He held many odds and ends while crafting his own creations of steel and wood. During a night in his workshop, a freak accident led to him losing a hand and his right arm. Forever crippled and unable to follow his passions. He wept in misery yet he tried to pass on to the girl his skills. He died shortly after, leaving a young Nushen alone. 

Becoming a vagabond at age 10, she attempted to be a merchent herself. Dragging her foster fathers things across large distances. Avoiding yet strangely becoming addicted to watching bandit raids and skirmishes from hidden places. Every village she entered, the people were poor and needed her odd wares not. Nor could they offer much to support the little traveler. One time, she was invited into a fairly well off lords manor. She saw how much better he lived than the peasants who toiled beneath him. He through out her wares and offered her a life as his daughter. Excited at the thought of a home (especially one like this), she happily tried to settle down. It did not take long before she was in a dungeon with a group of other children, all "taken in" by the noble. After months of torture and hearing her peers pleading for release. Jia Nushen began to truly form her views of life.

Eventually, the twisted lord was burned at a stake during a invasion from a  nearby rival. A mercenary squad that participated in the raid, released the children. One man, the leader, took a liking to Nushen. Choosing, (without her consent) to take her under his wing and replace his long dead daughter. Jia Nushen Spent several years with the rough and tumble crew. The merc leader taught her that "life's a bitch and then you die". He spoke often of his late daughter and wife, how they probably were better off in his own joking way. As time passed. She saw the rough parts of towns and cities, the halls of various noble families. She took note that even the powerful lacked something.  They wanted more power, or riches, or slaves. Indeed they likely had restless nights. 

Sadly even this was temporary. The mercs crossed the wrong lord and were sold out to be amubshed by soldiers of the Han. Declared brigands, they were mostly slaughtered. Now 15 and a gifted merc herself, Nushen was capable of fending off a few foor soldiers as she made her escape. She saw from a distance, her 3rd father die at the end of a spear., The girl felt for the first time a joy in it. He was at peace, saved from the chaos. Jia Nushen spent a year after that journeying again. She wanted to see more people saved.  So she spent more and more time in the darkest areas of society. Fighting in arena's and killing wandering thieves, merchants, small bands of guards. She got better and better, until stories of a rouge woman performing such acts got to the ears of a dangerous assassin guild.

The Shadow Servants's were one of the groups used by various kingdoms to perform all sorts of covert operations. Although this groups specialty was simply murder. Jia Nushen was given a drug and knocked unconscious to be brought in for recruitment. While normally they had a long list of conditioning rituals to break their new members to be. It was surprisingly unnecessary as she was quite suited for the role... at least at the time.

Most of the the rest of her life was as a member of Shadow Servants. She was given additional training on top of her already honed fighting skills. She became a prized member that was even rumored by her peers to one day take over the Great Shadow's seat as leader. That day would never come.

Jia Nushen discovered a plot that tied the Shadow Servants 
to a ring of slave traders. It seemed they collected many new members through this channel. Also the group became more and more influenced by specific lords money, thus losing their original nature. Nushen, now far from the innocent child with a bag of goodies, had completely lost it. Lying to herself that the group was killing to help end chaos. They seemed to relish keeping it going for profit of themselves and their "sponsors".  Like a demon from the netherworld she burned the base to the hideout, poisoned the wine, and killed the rest amid the chaos. Written in blood for any future clients was "Black Death".

From then on Jia Nushen went by Black Death in all future endevors. She became like the vary plague that started her path in life. Traveling the land and putting out all the lives that need to be saved from chaos and growing more and more distorted yet even more skilled at her newfound profession. Nearly every lord that was connected to The Shadow Servants, were found massacred with the people and guards who lived on nearby land having joined them. A huge warrant is on her head, but most are too scared to even speak the name Black Death.

What she will do and how far she may go is yet undecided. Jia Nushen simply wants to save everyone...

Other Information

Weapon #1:. Dread Lance
The massive amalgamation of a black spear like weapon used by the Black Death that casts a eerie glow in the moonlight. Long as a spear, thick as a broad sword. It has both reach and crushing power. Jagged ridges all along the Dread Lance allow for slashing to work just as well as thrusting. It is a monstrous weapon crafted by terrified blacksmith's for the Black Death before they were "saved". Normally used on her massacres or when fighting a powerful opponent.

Secondary Weapon:. Assassin's Chain
Crafted in the Shadow Servants lair. A long hooked chain whip designed to be used for mid distance assassinations. The spines on the chain can tear flesh and rend body parts if unprotected. The hook on the tip couples as a throat slicer and a scaling hook for walls. Very flexible and has can be easily decreased in length for convenient storage. Her preferred weapon for single target quick kills.

Horse:. Night Lady
A horse that once belonged to The Great Shadow. Is a very slick jet black horse that is better at speed and silent rides than stamina. Completely unafraid of death or blood. wears a very light face mask made to match the Black Death's armor as well as protective gaurds aroun the legs and saddle.. Exceptionally intelligent and can follow orders with simple gestures. Comes from a great distance when called by it's rider. A horse that has seen it's share of chaos and is pretty much bred on it. Usually not seen unless it is riding and carrying the Death to the latest victims. 

Pets:. Jia Nushen had a pet bunny for a few days during her first journey as a child merchant.. It was ate by a fox. She is unlikely to want more.

Optional Information

Musou Attack: Death Comes
Once per thread (usually upon first sight of her in a battle) she can emit a fearsome dark energy for one post that causes all those who are within good sight of her to panic and fight or react in fear. 

Duration of the panic/fear are as follows:
2 posts for main characters and important npcs.
3 posts for bodyguards.           
4 posts any generic/typical npcs.

What about the tip of the weapon?


As far as your musou goes...somehow I just don't think it's something that would be allowed here. It's too difficult to moderate. And the fact that your musou is a continually ongoing thing. That is not how Musou attacks work. They have a limited duration in the game. The way you describe this, all of the killing you do in a thread continually builds up power.

While in a normal thread, sure you might run out of bodies, but on the battlefield there would be no limitation to this.

The burning effect alone is no good. For the simple fact that elemental attacks are not allowed without the use of Orbs.

I think the Musou will have to undergo an extreme makeover before it would be allowable here. You are basically getting stronger attacks, defense, hit chance, speed, and so on.

And all you have to say is that you are killing NPCs that magically appear to be slaughtered. Since character deaths require permission from the player.

There has to be some kind of balance in this. The only downside I have seen is if you kill 100 people, you become uncontrollable and defenseless. But that still leaves a long time with all of your bonuses.

Working on dice rolls as a standardized system. With the roll effects against character types being fixed. That way it is easy to remember, and reference. With that in mind, if you could cut the success rates for your Musou out, you can use the standard tables. To be fair with everyone else.

As far as duration, that is something you can do in your profile. But I would prefer it be like this:

2 posts (Main Characters and Important NPCs, because they carry the same weight as player characters.)
3 posts (Bodyguards, who are stronger than NPCs, but weaker than MC/Importants)
4 posts (Any generic/typical NPCs)

Make those edits, and this can be my acceptance.
